Hirsch & Stetzer respond to a question on multi-site churches. Here is one quote,
"Setting up movie theaters to project the graven image of rock-star celebrity pastors across the United States has some long-term implications"

can a physical church ever become too large?

The "rock star pastor on a movie screen" image disturbs me in so many ways. I vividly remember a conversation with a pastor of a large church who said, "{Church Name} doesn't need a pastor, it needs a mayor." My heart sank because I know that the people of that fine church do, indeed, need a pastor. In a similar vein I find it hard to believe the church on the movie screen can adequately meet the needs for its people.
What happens when there is a death, or when there is a crisis? Who is there to remind them there is a God who cares for them? Do they just send over a pre-recorded message from the pastor?
Sojourner, IMESHO, yes. For more stop by my place.
Mike, as always, thanks.
Blessings.
